Best of: SF Pizza
SF is no NYC, but there's good slices to be found if you know where to look (hint: North Beach)
Let’s get one thing straight: Tony’s and Golden Boy are the kings. Nobody beats them. There’s lots of ok pizza in this city, and a few breakouts, but this is not New York, and there’s no debate on who runs this town. This list is probably more useful for recent transplants, but we can all use a little reminder sometimes. Dig in:
🍕 Tony’s Pizza Napoletana / tonyspizzanapoletana.com
There’s nothing I can write about Tony’s that hasn’t already been written. Locals and tourists alike can’t get enough. You can put your name in and go for a drink at Original Joe’s or order in - no wrong answers here.

Pepperoni
Grandma
Diavola
NOTE: the original restaurant is in North Beach and worth a visit, but a few Slice House by Tony Gemignani’s have popped up in the Haight, Market St., and even Walnut Creek.
🥊 Golden Boy Pizza / goldenboypizza.com
I mean…this place is crazy. If you go during the rush (which is most times), you’ll probably be staring down a frightening line. I can’t stress enough that this place is cash only and they are not forgiving about this.

Garlic & Clam (trust)
Pepperoni
NOTE: if you’re still questioning the idea of clam pizza, go ahead and order it - the slice is on me if you don’t like it

🌴 The Good Life Pizza / thegoodlifepizza.com
If you’ve been drunk in the Marina you’ve at least been tempted by The Good Life, which is open until 2am and is good for more than just drunchies. It’s less than a year old and replaced Pizza Orgasmica (lol) but late-night lines out the door and consistently good slices are a reminder that you do make good decisions.

Combo
BBQ Chicken
NOTE: if you’re trash like I am, you’ll splurge for a cup of ranch. Fun fact: all of their meat is halal.
