TGIF: mind-blowing Arabic comfort food

If you don’t have plans tonight, now you do

There’s really nothing better than finding an unassuming restaurant that cranks out A+ food - even better when family style is the default. Beit Rima has been on my list for years and I finally rallied the troops to try it with me. You’ll need 3-4 people minimum to truly appreciate how amazing everything is, but you better believe I’ll order delivery and spend a week eating my way out of it if that’s what it takes.

It’s hard to say much about Beit Rima except I would lay my life on the line for them. It’s not fancy but the food coming out of the kitchen punches well above its weight. I recognize the order below looks ridiculous, for reference it fed 7 with very little leftover.

Order This ⬇️

  • Lebne

  • Ful

  • Muhammara

  • Baked Halloumi

  • Baba Ganoush

  • Hummus

  • Falafel

  • Chicken Shish Tawook Plate

  • Ganan Braised Lamb Shank

  • Beef Kabob Plate

  • Samir’s Hand Kneaded Bread

NOTE: you’ll need to go up to the counter to order, I suggest sending an emissary or two that you trust not to screw it up; the stakes are high. If you’re looking for something to do before or after, Churchill Bar down the block is good for a quick pre-dinner drink, while the Loch Lomond at Last Rites around the corner is well worth the wait once you’re full of hummus and wine. They also have a 2nd location in Haight that I’m looking forward to trying.
