I‘ll cut right to the chase here: these restaurants aren’t new, but they’re new to Jack’s List and hopefully there’s something new for you. Whether it’s the chance to explore a neighborhood you never get out to or a cuisine that you aren’t familiar with, this is a reminder of all the opportunities we have to explore SF and a call to action to get out there.

Pastrami, egg, and cheese on everything bagel

There are few food categories that SF struggles with but bagels are probably at the top of that list. It’s almost impossible to find a bagel that stands up to New York standards, but now your search is over. House of Bagels is a bona-fide Kosher deli that can tussle with the big boys.

San ten mori

Izakaya Rintaro has that homey, earthy vibe that instantly washes every ounce of stress out of your body. It would be all too easy to spend an entire day posted at the bar, watching sashimi, yakitori, and other small plates roll off the line. The menu is huge and everything is good so you’ll definitely need more than one trip to hit all the high notes.

🍍 Pineapple King Bakery / pineapplekingbakery.com

I’m not typically one to seek out slider-sized pats of butter, but the pineapple bun with guava butter is one of the most perfect things I’ve ever eaten in my life. Pineapple King has a line out the door from open to close and it’s well worth the wait.
